Mini Kit Freebie For You!! January 11, 2009
I have finally created my first mini kit…I just found DigiScrapObsession through blogs I stalk (nett a.k.a. Lady_Grundlefunk) which led me to discover the Monthly Color Challenge there where as a participant you have the option of creating a layout with colors from the swatch or a mini kit. I have been trying to teach myself to “design” for about 8 months now and I decided it was time to give it a go when I came across this Challenge. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it! ![]()

Finally Participated!! December 31, 2008
It has been so, so long since I was able to commit to a Speed Scrap, nothing just ever seemed to go my way for one in a really long time! Aside from tonight, the last one I tried to do was at Sun and my dinosaur of a Photoshop did not want to work with me at all! But I played along at ScrapMatters tonite and had a blast! I feel really bad that I am not as active there as I used to be, all those girls are so GREAT! Anywho, here is what I got at the end of the hour! Melanie was such a great host as well!

Coffee Sleeve Ornament Tutorial December 13, 2008
Ok, so I know all you girls have used ‘em…and then tossed ‘em! And then about 38 seconds later, you remember that you can use it for the lovely world of hybrid! (sometimes I refer to it as trash-diving!) So, lets get to it!
Supply List: (Improvise as needed)
-Cardboard Coffee Sleeve
-Glue (nice, acid free, sturdy)
-Glue Stick
-Card Stock (or preferred printing surface like photo paper)
-Scissors
-Ribbon/String
-Embellishments you desire (printed or actual)

Step 1: Take coffee sleeve and scan it into your computer then open it up in your favorite scrapping program. (No scanner? It’s quite alrite, here is a .png file of my sleeve. I hope it is the same size and shape as yours!) After I have it in my program and it is cropped down with the white background removed, I will actually shrink the “template” of my sleeve down a bit so there is no doubt of it fitting on my surface. (I us Photoshop so to shrink, you would just hold the shift key while you click and drag a corner of the item in towards the center)

Step 2: Create your digital layout for the front and save it. Re-open your origional sleeve template and then flip the canvas horizontally to make a second layout for the back of the ornament. (You could leave the back side blank if you prefer or paint it or whatever you like)

Step 3: Cut out your digi layouts
Step 4: Adhere layout to sleeve with a nice heavy coating of the glue stick
Step 5: Punch holes on the upper outer edges of whichever sides you decided to make as the top of your ornament.
Step 6: Pull ribbon/string through holes and tie off making a loop to hang onto tree.
Step 7: Embellish as desired
Step 9: Hang on tree and enjoy!
